Worlds Apart

Last monday, Kat took us to Long Shan Temple. Just a stark reminder that we're far away from home, and in a very foreign place. A lot of incense, buddhist gods, counting beads, a lot of burning candles, practicing rituals for good fortune, praying to the god of academics or fertility... it was a dark, eerie place. At the same time, it was eye-opening to see this country in a different light... and recognize its deep, deep need for God.

Then, we went to Ximen - merely an MRT hop away, with buzzing lights and life.... where all the young people hang out.

look, Houstonians! it's lollicup!
